Vincent Publishing - IndexVincent Publishing - 2008 Travelers Championship Magazine - IndexThe reason players may
not pay as much attention
to the 12th is the eagle
chance that waits at the
523-yard, par 5 13th hole.
Every year there are just
about as many birdies and
eagles here as pars. Water
is a menace to the right
off the tee, then crosses
over to be a problem on
the left side of the green.
A careless approach shot
could roll back into the
water off one of Dye’s
signature “false fronts.” It
appears to be green from
the fairway, but is actually
a steep incline to the
putting surface.
Players get a breather at
the 421-yard, par 4 14th
hole. This dogleg-left
encourages a right-side
tee shot that must avoid
the bunkers on the right
side of the landing area.
This hole sets up the
famous four holes
that follow.
