Vincent Publishing - IndexVincent Publishing - 2008 Travelers Championship Magazine - IndexDye’s influence and Bobby
Weed’s philosophy is
apparent at the 158-yard
11th hole. Dye makes the
player shift gears from a
very long, grueling par 4 at
No. 10 to a short, downhill
par 3 with a large green.
The 10th requires power.
Players need to exhibit
finesse at 11. The green is
well-bunkered, but most
players will be looking to
make birdie here.

The designers do it again
at the 411-yard, par 4 12th
hole. The temptation is to
jump on a driver in order
to reach a fairway slope
that will add another 50
yards to a drive. The
downside to that decision
is the out-of-bounds
stakes on either side of
the fairway. Compounding
the danger are the winds
that will come up
unexpectedly from off the
river. The elevated green is
treacherous with many
severe breaks. This hole
can be disastrous to
anyone looking ahead
to the 13th.
