It has been nine years since Hunter Mahan first set
eyes on the TPC River Highlands. In that time, he’s
gone from a starry-eyed 17-year-old with aspirations
of a professional career on the PGA TOUR to one of
its newest rising stars. When he returns to the
Travelers Championship this week as the defending
champion, his roots in Cromwell, Connecticut are
never far from his mind.
