On behalf of everyone at Travelers, welcome
to the Travelers Championship at TPC River
Highlands.
We are proud to serve as the title sponsor of
this historic event, which takes place at one of
the finest venues and locations on the PGA
TOUR. Last year, the inaugural Travelers
Championship was quite a success, culminating
in the most exciting playoff of the 2007 season.
We know this year will be even more memorable
as we continue building on the tradition of its rich
56-year history.
The Travelers Championship is the PGA
TOUR’s longest continually running event and
the only early summer tournament in New
England. The Greater Hartford region receives
many benefits from the tournament as it has a
significant economic impact while raising
national awareness of the best our state of
Connecticut has to offer. Last year, hundreds of
thousands of fans visited the area while millions
around the country tuned in to watch the
TOUR’s elite golfers compete right here in
Cromwell.
This event not only has a positive impact
on the local economy, but more importantly, it
affects the lives of individuals throughout the
Greater Hartford area. Travelers and the PGA
TOUR are in-synch by remaining dedicated to
the community and focusing our efforts on
giving back.
All of the proceeds from the 2008 Travelers
Championship will be donated to The Hole in
the Wall Gang Camp and the Greater Hartford
Jaycees. We’re proud to support the charitable
work of these two outstanding organizations.
We would like to thank the Greater Hartford
Jaycees for all of the work they accomplish to
help groom future leaders while helping those
who need it most. They are an incredible
organization that makes the Travelers
Championship a true community event.
We also extend our appreciation to The
Hole in the Wall Gang Camp. This tremendous
charity provides an enriching camping
experience for children with cancer and other
serious illnesses, while extending year-round
support to their families and health care
providers. We hope our partnership enables
them to help even more children and families
around the country.
At Travelers, we are committed to being
in-synch with the ever-changing needs of our
customers, so we hope you enjoy the new era
