teve Stricker had a career year in
2007, with a Playoff victory, a second-place
finish in the FedExCup
standings, a spot on the United
States Presidents Cup team and his highest
earnings in one season. He climbed as high as
No. 4 in the Official World Golf Ranking after
falling as low as No. 337 in 2005. After his
amazing year, Stricker was voted Comeback
Player of the Year for a second consecutive
season. He finished second to Tiger Woods at
the Wachovia Championship, playing the
final three holes in 3-over par before losing to
Woods by two shots. Stricker collected his
second runner-up finish of the season after
posting a final-round 70 at the inaugural
AT&T National. He won The Barclays after
carding four rounds in the 60s for his fourth
career TOUR title and first win since the 2001
World Golf Championships-Accenture Match
Play Championship. In the Playoffs for the
FedExCup, Stricker finished T9 at the
Deutsche Bank Championship, third at the
BMW Championship and T17 at THE TOUR
Championship, finishing second overall in
the FedExCup standings and earning a $3-million
bonus.
