Houston Open, defeating Stuart
Appleby and 54-hole leader Bubba
Watson by three strokes. He concluded his
2006 season with a victory at THE TOUR
Championship, finishing the season No. 3 on
the money list and No. 4 in the Official World
Golf Ranking. He notched a third-place finish
at the Wachovia Championship thanks to
closing rounds of 66-71. In 2004, Scott captured
two TOUR wins and seven top-10s in
only 16 starts, including a T2 at the Deutsche
Bank Championship. He won THE PLAYERS
Championship, becoming the youngest winner
at age 23 years, 8 months and 12 days.
Later in the year, he won the Booz Allen
Classic in his first appearance at the TPC
Avenel. Scott’s first title came in 2003 at the
inaugural Deutsche Bank Championship,
shooting a course-record 9-under-par 62. His
first three official TOUR victories came on
TPC courses—Deutsche Bank Championship
(TPC Boston), THE PLAYERS (TPC Sawgrass)
and the Booz Allen Classic (TPC Avenel).
