Edward Welcome to the sixth annual Michelob ULTRA Open at Kingsmill, an
event that continues to leave an indelible footprint within the local
Virginia community in terms of money raised for local charities,the number
of area residents who volunteer, the enthusiastic fans and the myriad

of sponsors who work to make this event the best it can be year after year.
The event at Kingsmill Resort & Spa is one of the premier stops on the
LPGA Tour. In fact, in the inaugural “LPGA Best Practice Awards” poll,
LPGA Tour players selected the Michelob ULTRA Open as winner of four
of the 10 award categories. These categories included “Best Overall Event
on Tour,” “Best Family Hospitality,” “Best Caddie Hospitality,” and “Best
Gala Party.” Naturally, this is quite an achievement for our tournament
staff and an honor for Anheuser-Busch and the Michelob ULTRA brand.
In the past five years of hosting this tournament, the Michelob ULTRA
Open has generated more than $1.3 million in donations for civic and
charitable organizations in the Hampton Roads community. And countless
local golf fans have donated thousands of hours of manpower in the
months leading up to and during the week of the tournament every year.
Many of these volunteers work behind the scenes to provide an enjoyable
tournament week for the fans and players.
Our commitment to continue this rich Virginia golf tradition has been
extended through 2009. This year marks Anheuser-Busch’s 28th year of
sponsoring professional golf in Williamsburg and we are delighted to be
here again. It is a partnership that we are most proud of and one that continues
to generate excitement. Our century-old tradition of brewing highquality
beers makes the world of golf a perfect fit for the Michelob family
of beers.

along the scenic River Course.
